Noshes to Keep Your Stress Away

Life is stressful. But did you know that what you eat can actually help you manage stress better and stay healthy? It’s a true story. And here are three products that we recently discovered that will help you stay sane.

country life stress sheildStress Shield

Did ya’ll know that 75 percent of the general population experiences some level of stress every two weeks? I must not be representative of the population because mine is like every day…but regardless, this product piqued our interest. I would love a shield for my stress! According to the manufacturer, Country Life’s new product, Stress Shield, was designed to release nutrients (B-5 and Indian Ginseng are the main ones) that help in combating the chemicals that cause the body stress. While there is no way to completely prevent stress (damn), the product claims to help the body deal with occasional stress, irritability, fatigue and one’s inability to concentrate.

I tried taking this supplement every day for a week and inconsequentially had an insanely stressful and busy week. Did this product help? Hard to say, but I definitely maintained my sanity throughout the challenging week of deadlines and family issues—even when I wasn’t really able to work out. Granted, that’s no scientific study, but it is something.

Truffulls Truffulls

We already know about the health and happiness-inducing benefits of chocolate, and we know the tastiness of other FullBar and FullBites products, so when we were asked if we’d like to try Truffulls, our answer was “Hells yes.” And Truffulls may be the tastiest addition to the Be Full line thus far. These all-natural candy bar-like treats come in chocolate caramel and chocolate mint. Both are delicious and contain 120 calories, 8 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 3.5 grams of fat. This combination of nutritionals is supposed to fill you up and help you eat less.

I will say that after eating it, I wasn’t hungry, but it was so darn tasty that I kind of wanted more. I really enjoyed the chocolate-mint combo (no surprise, eh?), and Erin was partial to the chocolate caramel. In fact, her exact words were “Freakin’ yum!” I think that says it all.

Slice of Life Gummy VitaminsSlice of Life Gummy Vitamins

Okay so this one doesn’t really reduce stress, per se, but for those who hate/get nauseous from taking multivitamins and or suffer from the fish burps (ew) with their omega-3 supplements, these Slice of Life Gummy Vitamins are da bomb, dawg. (Wow, slang flashback to 2000—or Randy Jackson vernacular circa now, come to think of it.) These gummy supplements are tasty and make you feel like you’re eating candy (never have more than two though without doctor’s orders).

All of the vitamins are allergen-, casein- and gluten-free and come in a variety of fruity flavors. You can choose from Multi + Lycopene, Omega’s 3-6-9, Vitamin C, Energy + VitaminB12, Vitamin D3 and CoQ10. I especially enjoyed the Omega 3-6-9 variety because you got not one gross fish aftertaste. The only caveat with these is that each vitamin is 22 calories a pop, so if you’re watching your calories and taking a few of them, they can add up quickly. But then again, they’re tasty enough to eat as a sweet end to a meal.
